Dykstra, Williams Take Jabs On 94WIP With Roast Looming

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- All bets are off for this year's Philly Sports Roast with former Phillies teammates Lenny Dykstra and Mitch Williams.

Dykstra and Williams, separately of course, called into the 94WIP Morning Show on Tuesday to promote the roast, which will be hosted by 94WIP's Joe Conklin on Thursday, April 23rd (tickets available here).

"The guy became a barrel finder and of course he was extending games," Dykstra said of Williams, "It was painful. But no, I like him. He tried hard. It's not about like or dislike."

Was it the wrong move putting Williams in during Game Six of the 1993 World Series?

"Well, I just looked in Toronto's dugout and saw them all sprint to the bat rack," said Dykstra.

Williams responded.

"I only saw what [Lenny] had to say on twitter, and as I said in a previous conversation with you, [the roast] will be the first time I feel like a Harvard grad," Williams said. "I read where he said I was the barrel finder, and if he took the time to research my career stats, I walked more guys than I gave up hits to. I had trouble finding the plate much less the barrel."

Dykstra cursed multiple times during his call-in with the 94WIP Morning Show and was eventually kicked off the air.

"Well, Lenny's never been accused of being overwhelmed with common sense," Williams joked.
