PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — There’s more evidence that even half an hour of exercise, four times a week is good for your heart.
An interesting study is out of a meeting in San Francisco of the American College of Cardiology, believed to be the largest study of its kind. The authors looked at the records of over 58,000 patients who underwent treadmill stress tests between 1991 – 2009 at the Henry Ford Health System.
Those with better cardio-respiratory performance had a 50% reduction in risk of dying over those who had poor cardiac performance.
What this means, essentially, is that aerobic exercise is helpful. Even a half hour of exercise four times a week can make a significant difference in your heart health.
