WEATHER: A Cooler, But Quiet Day

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Yesterday's high of 61° was great, but it is unreasonable to expect to see that every day in mid-March.

Thursday's high of 51 will be much more seasonable. A slight breeze will make it feel a little cooler than that, but at least we will see ample sunshine under bright blue skies.

Temperatures will drop below freezing on Thursday night, under clear skies.

Things go downhill on Friday as a storm from the south approaches. The day will start off with sunshine, but clouds will increase throughout the afternoon. Rain will begin late Friday night and last through the afternoon Saturday.

The rain will be fairly steady and could be soaking at times. We expect generally half an inch to an inch when all is said and done.

Conditions will clear out Sunday, just in time for the St. Patrick's Day parade. Expect some sunshine with a brisk northwest breeze, with a high around 50.
