Simeone Museum Photography Class Series Studies Classic Race Cars

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- If you like rare cars and photography, this may be the event for you. Classic racing cars will be the subjects of a series of photography classes starting Saturday at the Simeone Automotive Museum in Southwest Philadelphia.

The Simeone Museum's 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza will be the subject of the first session on Saturday, where world-famous photographer Michael Furman kicks off the Foundations of Photography Study Series.

The Executive Director of the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, Dr. Frederick Simeone, says the series is geared towards photographers of all skill levels.

"And it really should be anybody who is interested in improving their automotive photographing skills, and they can be students, hobbyists, and I'm not a shamed to say some professionals can learn from Michael," Simeone says.

You will need to bring your own equipment. Each session costs $25 -- which includes admission to the museum featuring more than 60 historically significant cars including Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche, Aston Martin, and Ford.
