PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Jon Runyan Jr., a standout offensive lineman for the St. Joseph's Prep football team, is currently in the running for the title of Mr. PA Football 2014. The statewide contest, which pits well known names on the football field against each other, has fans voting for their favorite athlete in order to determine who will hold the distinction of being Mr. PA Football for the next year.

Son of former Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jon Runyan, Runyan Jr. was part of the team that won back-to-back PIAA Class AAAA championships. He has also been named to the 2014 Pennsylvania Writers' AAAA All-State team. Now a senior, Runyan Jr. has already committed to playing for University of Michigan in the fall.

"We are proud of Jon Daniel and his accomplishments," said St. Joseph's Prep Head Coach Gabe Infante. "His dedication, sacrifices, and work ethic are a primary reason for our unprecedented success. Personally, I have great admiration and respect for the class with which Jon Daniel has conducted himself over the past four years. He is a tribute to his family and friends. We will miss him greatly!"

Runyan Jr. has been nominated and selected to be amongst the top five high school football athletes statewide through a unique voting process. The fans, media, and coaches each represent one-third of the vote.
