Local Sisters Give Birth Just 5 Hours Apart

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --  It was a very special day for two sisters Wednesday.

The sisters gave birth to daughters on the very same day -- just hours apart.

Shannon and Melissa had due dates 10 days apart.

Melissa went into labor as Shannon had her delivery induced Monday.

"She came in pretty much after the baby was born and we just started talking and she was emotional and she was holding her, and then you could tell she was in pain," said Shannon.

"At first I thought maybe just with all of the excitement and the anxiety of her having her baby I was like 'I can't be in labor,' but it was, it was happening," said Melissa.

The babies were born just five hours apart.

All are doing well.
