Police: Pennsylvania Man Beat, Strangled Woman For Tossing Heroin

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) -- Police are looking for a Pennsylvania man they say beat and strangled a woman after she threw away his heroin.

East Lampeter Township police say 31-year-old Thomas Christopher Fortis fled after the alleged assault around 7 a.m. Monday.

He's wanted on a charge of domestic violence-related simple assault.

The victim was hospitalized with cuts on her face and mouth and bruises on her neck and arms.

She told police Fortis punched her with an open fist.
