PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A luncheon is set for Friday to celebrate the long-awaited release of the Wilt Chamberlain U.S. postage stamps, set to be available that same day. .

Donald Hunt of the Philadelphia Tribune started the push to get Chamberlain immortalized on a stamp some six years ago. He says this will be a special day:

“We’re going to come together and recognize the Wilt Chamberlain Postal Stamp committee that helped do the leg work to make these Wilt Chamberlain postage stamps, because there’s two forever stamps of Wilt — one in a Philadelphia Warriors uniform and one in a Lakers uniform — come to fruition.”

Friday’s luncheon will be held at First District Plaza at 3801 Market Street in Philadelphia.
