Woman Shot Dead Inside South Jersey Home, Suspect Arrested

HAMILTON TWP, NJ. (CBS) -– Police have arrested a man for the shooting death of a woman he lived with in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Police responded to a home along the 6000 block of Sears Avenue in Mays Landing around 10 p.m. Wednesday. Officers arrived to find 52-year-old Debra Mason with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation led to the arrest of 62-year-old Joseph Morrison, who lived with the victim and was at the residence when police arrived.

Morrison has been charged with murder and related offenses. He was being held the Atlantic County Justice Facility in lieu of $1,000,000 full cash bail.
