PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Amtrak trains have been rolling on the busiest travel day of the year. An Amtrak spokesman says they expect 80,000 travelers to go through 30th Street Station this holiday weekend.

Among them is Janet, who says the forecast made her alter her plans a bit.

“It just put me on alert,” she said. “I made sure I got an early start. I didn’t want to cut it too close because I didn’t know what getting from my home to the train station was going to be like.”

She has a special Thanksgiving trip planned.

“I’m going to Richmond to have dinner with my son who’s home from Korea, he’s in the army, and my daughter-in-law and my three grandchildren,” she said.

It’s been more than a year since her son has been home from serving overseas, and she gave a hint of what they’ll be doing besides eating. “Oh yeah, I have all my Eagles gear in my suitcase.”
