PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — (Editor’s Note) Stan Hochman, a Daily News sports columnist for 55 years, has been appearing on 94WIP’s morning show for over a year now, settling disputes (and starting new ones) as the “Grand Imperial Poobah.” He brings that persona to on Tuesdays and Thursdays and we welcome input on which issues you want the Poobah to take a good, hard look at. Without further ado, here’s The Poobah.

Phil E. Phan: The Vegas handicappers have established Dallas as a 3-point favorite over the Eagles on Thanksgiving Day. Should we bet the house, the farm and the dog on the Iggles?

Poobah: Always bet with your head, not over it!

Dallas came back from a double-digit deficit to beat the Giants, so spare me the bogus myth that Tony Romo chokes at this time of the year. The Cowboys have so many offensive weapons to throw at the Eagles’ depleted defense. They might have the best offensive line in the NFL, providing time for Romo, providing time for Dez Bryant and Jason Witten to work free. The Eagles can win a shootout, but do you want to bet the house, the farm and the dog that Mark Sanchez can throw 44 passes without four of them winding up in the hands of Cowboys?

Meanwhile, tip your hat to the Eagles, who did not look back at the thumping in Green Bay, nor did they look ahead to the high-stakes matchup with Dallas. They took care of business against the Titans and that’s a very good sign. Also, Katy Perry as the half-time entertainment at the Super Bowl. Bleach!
