Jon Bon Jovi Receives Marian Anderson Award
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Singer Jon Bon Jovi is the 2014 recipient of Philadelphia's Marian Anderson Award.
He joins a prestigious list that includes Oprah Winfrey and Sidney Poitier.
The announcement was made in July.
Bon Jovi received the Marian Anderson Award at a ceremony Tuesday night at the Kimmel Center.
His charity work through the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation has helped the homeless in Philadelphia and Camden.
The Marian Anderson Awards has raised more than $500,000 to help young artists in the Philadelphia area.
