The commonwealth now joins other financial backers of “Philadelphia 30th Street Station District Plan,” including Brandywine Realty Trust and Drexel University, where John Fry is the president.

“The 30th Street Station District Plan will leverage the nation’s third busiest passenger rail station as a driver of economic activity and innovation in Philadelphia. It will integrate commercial opportunities and transit infrastructure planning to create capacity to meet and benefit for the enormous demand for transportation here in the nation.”

The project is long term with a 30 year time frame, but before that work begins a master plan has to be developed which is expected to be ready in about two years.
