PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Eagles games are one of the most special occasions the city has to offer. On Sunday, a man used that venue as the back drop of the most special moment in his life as he proposed to his girlfriend before the Eagles match up with the Giants.
Ira Schwartz proposed to his girlfriend Teagan Quade before the big game on Sunday. Schwartz and Quade are both members of the military and met while they were stationed aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Schwartz and Quade currently live in Norfolk, Va. The couple had their first child on July 19th of this year, their daughter Lucille Schwartz.
Schwartz comes from a family of devoted Eagles fans and the commitment to the team is something that Quade has always been well aware of. Her connection to Schwartz has manifested itself into a love of the Eagles as well.
The couple was granted leave from the Navy and had the opportunity to attend’s Sunday’s game. According to Schwartz’s sister Alison, he knew that he had to take advantage of the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend in the most amazing venue he could imagine.
Not everyone would consider a pep band, tailgating and football to be the most romantic of settings, but for this couple it was perfect. There was no better way for Schwartz to propose to his favorite girl than to do so while supporting their favorite team.
