Elmwood Park Zoo Teams With Eagles To Help Raise Awareness About Wildlife Conservation

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Bald Eagle from the Elmwood Park Zoo will be raising awareness about wildlife conservation at every Philadelphia Eagles home game starting Sunday.

Noah, the 13-year-old Bald Eagle, is part of the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown's education program. The zoo has partnered with the Eagles and he will be on display before and during the game.

"You can see him outside Headhouse Plaza where you can get your picture taken with him," says Laurie Smith Wood, the director of education at the zoo, "and then he is also on the side lines during the game at various times."

Noah fell out of his nest when he was eight-weeks-old. He suffered permanent brain and eye injuries.

He spent many years in a rehabilitation facility before the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service gave authority to the Elmwood Park Zoo to care for him.
