Del. Man Facing Charges After 4-Year-Old Found Walking Along Roadway Alone

HARRINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A Delaware man has been arrested after police say he allowed a four-year-old to walk alone along a roadway.

On Sept. 24th, a concerned citizen contacted police about a small child walking alone along Park Brown Road in Harrington.

Police were able to locate the four-year-old girl and took her into custody.

An investigation revealed the girl lived at a nearby apartment complex. Police contacted her mother at work and determined the child was being watched by her uncle, 34-year-old Steven R. Huey, while she was at work.

Police went to Huey's residence but were unable to contact him and issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Oct. 1, Huey turned himself into the Harrington Police Department and was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
