Penn State Ranked In Top 25 College Football Power Rankings

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- In SI.com's latest college football power rankings, Penn State is ranked 24th. Last week the postseason ban on Penn State was removed by the NCAA and all the sudden, after a 3-0 start, James Franklin's Nittany Lions are in the Big Ten Championship conversation.

"As for the Nittany Lions, they scraped by in Piscataway, N.J., but did so in the type of game they haven't won for the past few seasons," wrote Martin Rickman on SI.com. "Penn State is eligible for the postseason again, and it has as good a chance as anyone to win the conference."

Other Big Ten teams ranked in SI.com's power rankings: Michigan State (12), Wisconsin (21), and Ohio State (22). Nebraska was in the "next five" category. You can see the full list here

Before Penn State's 13-10 Big Ten victory over Rutgers on Saturday, Franklin was recorded addressing his team.

"When you put on a Penn State helmet, you cannot be beaten," Franklin said. "It's your suit of armor, baby. There's no way you can be beaten."

So far, the inspirational quote has rung true.

Penn State hosts UMASS on Saturday at 4:00pm E.T.
