Phillies Looking To Snap Six Game Skid Tonight
PHILADELPHIA, PA (CBS) -- The Phillies will look to snap a six-game losing streak and avoid a sweep in Miami as they wrap up this series against the Marlins.
Philadelphia is now 36-48 after getting shut-out for the 11th time this season last night, 5-0. The Phillies managed just five hits, all singles, in defeat.
Kyle Kendrick will get the start tonight for the Phillies. The veteran right-hander is 3-8 this season with a 4.22 ERA. He has pitched well against the Marlins in his career, going 12-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 23 appearances. However, in two starts against Miami here in 2014, Kendrick is 0-1 with a 6.17 ERA.
The Marlins will counter with left-hander Brad Hand. He will be making his first MLB appearance since May 23rd as he has been recovering from an ankle injury.
