Suspect Critically Injured After Being Shot By Police In Olney

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police reportedly shot a suspect in the Olney neighborhood of Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Two officers reportedly stopped a GMC Denali in the 100 block of Champlost Street around 9:15 p.m.

Police say the suspect exited the car at the officers' request and was being frisked when the man struggled with the police.

The 55-year-old suspect then reportedly pulled a gun from his waistband and pointed it at the officers. He may have fired a shot.

At that point, both officers discharged their weapons, striking the suspect multiple times.

Police say they retreived the suspect's gun and a bag of marijuana.

The suspect is in critical condition at Einstein Hospital.

There were no injuries to police.
