A Winning Weekend Weather Forecast

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Clouds will give way to some sun today. A weak cold front will push down from up north late this afternoon, so can't rule out a shower or even a thunderstorm. Highs will reach the mid 70s.

The weekend is an absolute winner. Abundant sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 70s both days.

Monday is nice as well, but we start to turn up the heat. Tuesday and Wednesday look steamy, but those temperatures could be inhibited by some thunderstorms late Tuesday and into Wednesday

Hopefully your weekend feels longer than my blog :)

Today In Weather History:

1789 - A tornado touched down in Sussex Co, DE.

1991 - The temperature at PHL reached 97 degrees , the highest May reading since official records began in 1870.
