By Al Novack

DOWNE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- New Jersey forestry fire officials are monitoring a forest fire in a remote section of the Edward Bevan Wildlife and Fishing area in rural Cumberland County.

The fire began around 6 p.m. Wednesday night, and by early Thursday morning, some flames had spread over some 1,500 acres.

Late Thursday afternoon, officials told CBS 3 the fire is 85 percent contained.

Officials say no buildings or populated areas are affected and no evacuations have been ordered.

Ackley Road, the only road thru the area, is closed near the fire scene.
