3rd Annual Jazz Festival Takes Over Center City

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 3rd annual Center City Jazz Festival rocked the town and gave folks a chance to boogy down on Saturday with some local, national and even international acts.

With 16 bands and 6 hours of music spanning across four different venues, this year's festival had enough jazz to satisfy just about all of the 600 plus jazz heads who came out to enjoy the day.

"It's a blast," said one jazz fan. "I'm excited to be here."

"Oh it's great, this venue is beautiful" said another. "I love the vibe."

Chris' Jazz Cafe, Time Restaurant, Fergie's Pub and Milkboy all played host to the artists performing at this year's festival.

Ernest Stuart, who founded the event, says two words can best describe this jam-packed gala.

"Today is Jazz chaos," Stuart says.

He says the festival attracts a diverse group of fans, and that includes everyone from aspiring musicians to Mayor Michael Nutter.
