Clarifi Holds FREE College Financial Planning Workshops

By Jim Donovan: The process of planning for college and figuring out a way to pay for it can keep a lot of parents and students up at night. That's why local college planning service Clarifi College is holding a series of free local college planning workshops. The workshops can help families start the process, answer their questions and inform them on strategies to lessen the staggering debt so many have fallen victim to.

"Real, effective college planning should look at the 'big picture' of all the interconnected parts—your child's major, school and financial plan," says Chris Chaplin, College Planning Advisor for Clarifi College. "In turn, having a plan will encourage you to think about borrowing more carefully and reduce your future debt."

Workshop topics will include reviewing critical college planning steps with juniors and seniors, gaining a better understanding of financial aid options—including the FAFSA and CSS Profile—and offering tips to families with students who have 'no idea' about what major and school to choose.
