4 Injured In Van Crash On The Blue Route

BROOMALL, Pa. (CBS) -- A one-car crash on the Blue Route in Delaware County severely impacted the morning commute Friday.

The one-car crash happened at about 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the Blue Route approaching the St. David's exit.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene where it showed a white work van that appeared to lose control and go off the highway. The van came to a stop against a concrete sound barrier after striking a tree.

A total of four people were injured, with one occupant having to be extricated by rescue crews. The extent of any injuries was not immediately known.

As a result of the crash, traffic along the northbound lanes of the Blue Route was backed-up for approximately 10 miles at one point.

The lanes fully reopened at about 7:40 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
