Warm Weekend Ahead With One Stumbling Block Tomorrow

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An almost audible sigh of relief was heard rising up from the Delaware Valley today as we stepped out into brilliant sunshine and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60's! This is exactly the weather we've been waiting for, and the best news of all is that it lasts into the weekend. In fact, it's going to get even warmer.

But before we get to the nice warm weekend weather, let's talk about our one stumbling block - a cold front moving into the area and stalling tomorrow will deliver more cloud cover and the chance for a few showers here and there, mainly off to the north and west, but we can't rule them out anywhere! It stays mild with a high of 69, but not as sunny and bright as today.

If you're up early on your Saturday morning, you may take note of a few clouds and showers around, but if you sleep in (jealous!) you'll miss the clouds altogether. Most of the day Saturday is mostly sunny and beautiful, with a high near 70 and a good deal of sunshine, just a great day to get outside.

A southwest flow Sunday and Monday will push the mercury even higher. Temperatures will top out in the mid-70's both days and you may notice a rise in humidity as well, especially Monday! But just when it starts to feel like summer, a strong cold front blasts through Tuesday with rain and wind, and temperatures on Wednesday will be hard-pressed to get to the mid-50's! Ah, the swings of April.

Enjoy the beautiful weekend weather!
