Eagles Fans Split On Jenkins Signing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) –Yesterday was the beginning of free agency in the NFL, and safety was the Eagles' biggest need. A lot was made about safeties Jairus Byrd and T.J.Ward, both former Oregon Ducks, regarded as the best two safeties in the free agent class.

However, the Eagles stayed true to their philosophy, signing a younger, inexpensive safety in Malcolm Jenkins. Jenkins, 26, inked a three year deal worth up to $16.25 million, $8.5 million guaranteed, with the Birds.

Ward went to the Broncos on a four-year deal, worth $23 million. After letting Jenkins leave, the Saints turned around and signed Byrd for a massive six-year, $54 million deal, $28 million guaranteed.

Today on the Mike & Ike Show on 94WIP, fans were asked if they like the Malcolm Jenkins signing. In a close vote, 53% of fans said they like the signing.
