Penn State Board To Consider Naming New President

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State may have a new university president in the coming days to replace the man who's led the school since shortly after Jerry Sandusky's arrest.

The university said late Friday that a "special meeting" next week it had announced earlier in the day will be "to consider the appointment of a president."

The public meeting takes place at noon Monday in the Penn Stater Conference Center and Hotel.

The school says there will be a press conference afterward.

The announcement didn't disclose the name of the potential president.

President Rodney Erickson plans to retire by June.
