FACEBOOK TESTS NEW NETWORKREAD MORE: La Salle Coach Raises Awareness For Daughter With Leukemia
Facebook has confirmed its testing a mobile-ad network that will allow a small number of advertisers to use Facebook’s infrastructure to place ads on other apps. The network could help Facebook increase its revenue without burdening Facebook users with too many ads.
“While we have run similar tests in the past, this current test is more like a mobile ad network in that we are working directly with a small number of advertisers and publishers rather than an outside ad-serving platform,” Facebook said in its blog post.
The limited announcement did not include any details on which apps would receive the ads. “The current test is limited to a few advertisers and partners, and we will share more details over the coming months,” Facebook said.
In an effort to beef up security, Snapchat rolled out a new verification system to help prevent hackers from creating fake users to exploit Snapchat’s “find friends” database. When new users download the app and sign up for the service, they are now shown nine images and must select all of the images containing an image of the Snapchat ghost.
Unfortunately, a security researcher has already blogged about hacking the new verification system.READ MORE: Single-Car Crash In Cheltenham Township Leaves 1 Person Dead, 4 Others Injured
