Police: Suspects Sought in Pickpocket Incident At Center City Restaurant

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police are looking to identify the suspect who committed a theft in Center City.

At 8:45 p.m. Friday, police say the suspect entered the Rice & Mix Restaurant located at the 1200 block of Walnut Street along with a male and a female.

According to police, the suspect approached the alleged victim while the second male and the female suspects went to distract the clerk.

Police say the suspect then sat down directly behind the victim while she was eating.

The suspect then placed his jacket over her purse, which was hanging on her chair back, and removed her wallet, according to police.

The suspect then immediately got up, walked over to the other suspects, had a brief conversation, and then fled the restaurant.

Suspect #1: Black male, 40-years-of-age, 5'9"-6'0", full beard, wearing a blue Jeff hat, blue quilted pattern jacket, dark blue argyle print sweater, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Suspect #2: Black male, 40-years-of-age, 5'9"-6'0", stocky build, wearing a dark colored baseball cap, a dark colored North Face Jacket, and blue jeans.

Suspect #3: Black female, 40-years-of-age, 5'6", medium build, glasses, wearing a dark colored baseball cap, a dark colored North Face Jacket, blue jeans, and carrying a tan colored pocket book.
