Winter Starts With A Spring-Like Feel In Philadelphia
By John McDevitt
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Saturday was the first day of winter, but it certainly felt more like spring in Philadelphia.
The temperatures were in the low 60's, which had those taking in the sights and sounds of the holiday season all smiles in Center City.
The spirit of the holidays was evident as crowds gathered at the Holiday Village in LOVE Park to listen to the joint carolers of Notre Dame Academy and Malvern Prep raising money for the kids of the make a wish foundation.

Elizabeth Riely of Germantown was opening her wallet in the name of charity:
"I think that makes us all feel better, is when we do something for somebody else," she says. "You can put as many things down on a wish list, but when you are giving to somebody else it makes all the difference in the world."
Many people were shopping in the Christmas Village wearing sweaters, light jackets and even shorts.
Merchants were very happy to see all the people and the money the warm weather is bringing in:
"Today is a blessing," this shopper says.
