Chip Kelly's Influence On Defense, Fundamentals

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Chip Kelly is generally thought of as an offensive mastermind. A man who's Oregon Ducks team was unstoppable on the offensive end, and whose Eagles offense is becoming something of the same.
What isn't often talked about is Kelly's understanding of the defensive side of football, as well as his focus on the fundamental aspects of the game, rather than some sort of complicated approach.
Mark Saltveit is the author of The Tao Of Chip Kelly: Lessons From America's Most Successful coach, a book about Kelly's and approach to the game.
I spoke with Mark about Kelly's success with the Eagles, his focus on defense and fundamentals, the success of Nick Foles, and just what the ceiling to his success in the NFL might look like.
