Attempted Robbery Ends In Crash In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An attempted robbery at 11th & Lehigh Streets ended in a two-car crash on Cambria Street in North Philadelphia Friday shortly before 4 a.m.
Police on scene tell Eyewitness News a driver, possibly an unlicensed cab operator, became the victim of an attempted robbery and assault.
He managed to escape the suspect, but crashed his black Mercedes into a silver Ford Taurus parked on the street, around the corner.
The suspect fled on foot. He is described as a black male, wearing a white jacket.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
