Pine Hill School Temporarily Locked Down After Police Receive Call About Student With Gun

PINE HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- Overbrook Senior High School in Pine Hill was placed on "lockdown" Wednesday morning after someone reported a student was in possession of a handgun.

Police have no witnesses and say no threats were made and a gun was never displayed.

An alleged student somehow involved in the incident was taken into custody and transported to the Pine Hill Police Department.  A" shelter in place" remained in effect at the school, located at 1200 Turnerville Road, while police searched lockers for a possible weapon.

Police say a weapon was never located and the lockdown was lifted.

The incident remains under investigation.
