Corbett Orders Pa. Flags Lowered To Half-Staff for Navy Yard Shooting Victims

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Governor Tom Corbett has ordered that Pennsylvania flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of the victims of this morning's shooting at the Washington Navy Yard (see related story).

Earlier today, the President ordered all United States flags to be lowered at all government buildings out of respect for the victims.

Both the U.S. and Pennsylvania flags shall remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, September 20th.

"I join with other Pennsylvanians in mourning the innocent lives lost today and honoring the courage shown by our military, law enforcement and others, in bringing a halt to the rampage,'' Corbett said in a release. "Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this horrible act of violence.''

All Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
