Corbett Names Former State Lawmaker True As Aide

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A former eight-term state lawmaker from Lancaster County is Gov. Tom Corbett's new legislative affairs secretary.

The Republican governor announced the selection of Katie True on Tuesday.

More recently, True has been a commissioner of the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs within the Pennsylvania Department of State.

Corbett calls her a strong advocate for children and families. She founded Kids Saving Kids, a drug-abuse prevention program for elementary school students, and she's been executive director of the Pennsylvania Commission for Women.
