By Jim Donovan:  Pet lovers listen up!   The “Cat and Dog Days of Summer” adopt-a-pet program has returned to the Burlington County New Jersey Animal Shelter.

Now through August 31st the shelter is offering reduced adoption fees.  They are dropping the fee for dogs down to $40, as opposed to the regular charge of $75.  Cat adoption fees have been reduced from $45 to $20.

The shelter provides spayed or neutered animals for adoption in hopes of controlling the county’s animal population.

The County Animal Shelter is located on Academy Drive off of Woodlane Road, behind the Burlington County Library in Westampton Township. Hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays; noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The shelter is closed on Sundays and holidays.
