Body Of Female Pulled From Delaware River In Delaware City

DELAWARE CITY, Del. (CBS) – Police in Delaware are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in the Delaware River early Monday.

The discovery was made by a crabber at about 6:30 a.m. in the river south of Pea Patch Island in Delaware City.

Members of the Delaware City Fire Department brought the body to shore and Delaware State Police detectives responded to the scene.

The body has been turned over to the medical examiner's office where an autopsy will be performed in order to determine the woman's identity and her cause and manner of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
