Report: Phillies Interested In Yankees' Joba Chamberlain

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The rumors about Phillies trades will fly until the July 31st trade deadline. If losses pile up, the talk will grow louder that the team should dump some of their higher priced veteran talent for younger, lower priced, prospects.

Third baseman Michael Young would figure to be one of the moveable pieces, especially to an American League team. Could the Yankees be a landing spot for Young?

The Phillies have shown interest in trading for Yankees right-handed pitcher Joba Chamberlain, according to a report from the New York Daily News. The Yankees, who have faced a number of injury problems this year, could use Young as a utility infielder and designated hitter.

Chamberlain has pitched in 22 games for the Yankees this season, with a 1-0 record and a 5.75 ERA.
