PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Opera Philadelphia will perform "Powder Her Face" from June 7th through the 16th at the Perelman Theater at the Kimmel Center.
Listen to the podcast below...
David Devan
Company President David Devan says it's the story of Margaret, Duchess of Argyll, who was called the "Dirty Duchess" in the 1960s.
"She was famous for a scandalous divorce in the 60s, and so a lot of her sexual exploits became known through this divorce, but what this work is really about is how women's infidelity is treated totally different than men's," Devan says.
And you'll understand the words.
"It's in English. We do use projected subtitles for English, as sometimes the operatic voices are something that people aren't used to hearing," Devan explains.
