Authorities Release Identities Of Victim, Suspect In Bloody Double-Stabbing In Camden

By Mike DeNardo

CAMDEN, N.J. (CBS) -- Homicide investigators were on the scene of a double-stabbing this morning in Camden.

It happened at a rowhouse in the 500 block of North 9th Street, just before 10am.  Witnesses say a man, who was later identified as 39-year-old Jose Quinones, apparently stabbed Madaline Morales, 27, to death in the house, then stabbed himself.

Patricia Sturdivant saw the wounded couple inside the house before police arrived.

"Both of them were laying there -- it was gruesome. Covered in blood. He was laying on his back, she was laying on her side," she said.

Quinones, who authorities say is the former boyfriend of the victim, was taken to Cooper University Medical Center where he was in surgery as of Tuesday afternoon.

Morales, who had filed a temporary restraining order against Quinones on April 15, was later pronounced dead.
