Woman Arrested For Haddonfield Hit-Run That Left Child Seriously Injured
HADDONFIELD, NJ (CBS) – A Barrington woman has been arrested for a hit and run accident that left an 11-year-old seriously injured.
Sixty-nine-year-old Barbara Messerschmidt was arrested for the incident, which happened on Saturday evening on the 700 block of North Haddon Avenue.
The 11-year-old pedestrian was transported to Cooper University Hospital with serious head and leg injuries. She was last listed in stable condition.
Messerschmidt allegedly confessed to police that she had was unable to stop before striking the pedestrian and said she panicked and fled the scene.
