Penn Veterinarians Doing Free Eye Exams For Service Dogs
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Veterinarians at the University of Pennsylvania say they will conduct free eye examinations next month for service dogs.
The National Service Dog Eye Exam is a nationwide philanthropic effort provided by board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists, who donate their time and services to provide the exams free to registered service dogs.
The exams will be offered May 20-24 at Penn's veterinary hospital in Philadelphia.
To qualify, animals must be "active working animals" that were certified by a formal training program or organization or are currently enrolled in a formal training program. The certifying organization could be national, regional or local.
More information and an online registration form can be found at www.ACVOeyeexam.org. Registration ends April 30.
