'Militant' Priest Says New Pope Is Right Man At Right Time

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Pope Francis is getting high marks from the author of a new book who asserts there's a supernatural battle going on for the souls of humanity.
Father Rick Heilman is the author of Church Militant Field Manual.
It's a publication that seeks to enlist the reader in the spiritual battle against Satan and the evil forces Heilman asserts are ripping apart families, marriages and society.
Heilman, a priest for 25 years from the Diocese of Madison, Wis., uses military terminology in the book to outline the "mission" to "recruits."
Heilman says Pope Francis also recognizes the growing struggle.
"So many that have kind of faded away are turning their head back now at Pope Francis and his warmth and his willingness to be there, right there with the common man. And, his words are very, very strong. He's been mentioning Satan and the devil very many times," he explains.
Heilman says the new pope is the right man at the right time to lead the church.
