PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A fight over a cab fare led Philadelphia police to shoot and kill a man on Sunday night, after he pulled a gun on them.
Philadelphia police say the man was in a cab on the 1600 block of Arrott Street in the Frankford part of town.
When it came time for him to pay his tab, he refused.
There happened to be police patrolling the area. The cab driver got their attention. He asked them for help collecting his money.
When police approached the man who refused to pay, he ran away from them.
Police say as he ran away, he pulled a gun on them and when he pulled his gun, they fired theirs.
He was hit twice and was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released.
The incident remains under investigation.
