Bridgeton Police Investigate Possible Hit And Run That Killed Female Pedestrian

By Al Novack

BRIDGETON, N.J. (CBS) -- Police in Bridgeton, Cumberland County are hoping someone comes forward with information about a possible hit and run that killed an unidentified woman Wednesday night.

The victim's body was found on the highway near McCormick Place and Pearl Street at around 7 p.m.

Police say the woman, believed to be in her 50s or 60s, had no identification on her. They are uncertain if she was struck by a bus or a passing car.

Police have studied surveillance video from a nearby store and have not reached any conclusion on the woman's death, though it appears to be a hit and run.
