Police Seek North Philadelphia Man in Shooting Death of Live-In Girlfriend

By Mark Abrams

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police ask for the public's help to locate a man wanted for questioning in the death of a North Philadelphia woman.

Police want to find the live-in boyfriend after the woman was found shot to death inside the bedroom of an apartment the couple shared.

Police say a neighbor heard a male and female in a loud argument late Tuesday night that was punctuated by gunshots.

The neighbor called 911 and police arrived to find 27-year-old Rasheedah Blunt, of the 3500 block of Old York Road, dead of multiple gunshot wounds (see previous story).

Police say a neighbor then saw a man run from the second-floor apartment, get into a car, and drive off.

Philadelphia Police Department homicide captain James Clark says police are looking for 33-year-old Dominque Haynes, who is on probation and had recently gotten out of jail.

"He is a live-in boyfriend," says Clark.  "He hasn't been seen since. He did not show up for work today, and we need to talk to him.  So, right now we're calling him a 'person of interest.'  But we need to get him in the homicide unit. We need to talk to him."

Clark says Blunt's six-year-old daughter and the three-year-old son of a friend whom she was watching were asleep in another bedroom and were unharmed.

Clark says the pair had been seeing each other for about six months and moved in together three months ago.
