'Samaritan's Purse' From NC Heads To Jersey To Help After Sandy

By David Madden

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - No matter what your faith, we're all taught to do what we can to help in times of need. One religious organization has travelled from North Carolina to assist New Jersey homeowners in getting back on their feet.

You probably never heard of Samaritan's Purse. Then again, how often does this part of the country get hammered like Sandy left New Jersey? The group's set up three locations throughout the state to assist people in recovery.

"We do mud outs, gut outs, mold remediation. We do tarp work, tree work, recovery of personal property," says Spokesman Tony McNeil (photo).

All at no charge. There are also members of the Billy Graham organization along hand to help those who need a little spiritual assistance, if you need that.

The group only works on private homes; no rentals or businesses. They've set up shop in Linwood to help people in the southern part of the state. You can call them to set up a review appointment at 609-927-2950.
