2 Arrested After Giving High School Kids Pot Cookies

BELVIDERE, N.J. (AP) — Two Warren County residents have been arrested after some high school students became sick after eating cookies believed to be laced with marijuana.

Dennis Horvath and Sharon Getz of Pohatcong are each charged with four drug offenses and one count of child abuse.

Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke says several students at Phillipsburg High School reported being sickened on Thursday after eating the cookies. It's not clear how they got the cookies.

Police from Phillipsburg and Pohatcong Township searched the suspects' residence and say they found marijuana plants, suspected marijuana cookies and drug paraphernalia.

It was not immediately known if Horvath and Getz had retained attorneys.
