One Person Trapped In Bucks County School Bus Accident

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – Crews are on the scene of a serious accident involving a school bus in Bucks County.

The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Route 413 on the Route 332/Newtown Bypass in Newtown Township.

The bus was on its way to pick up students at Benjamin Rush and Cecilia Snyder Schools when it rear-ended a box truck.

The driver and an aide were on board the bus, but no students were present at the time of the crash.

The female bus driver was airlifted from the scene. There is no update on her current condition.

The female aide was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center by ambulance. She has non-life threatening injuries.

There were no injuries for those in the truck.

Police say that the bus and truck will be inspected for mechanical issues.

A second bus was called in to pick up the students.
