Poll: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie Would Make Bad Choice For VP

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Governor Chris Christie enjoys strong job approval ratings except when New Jerseyans are asked whether he'd be a good nominee for vice president.

Fifty-three percent compared to 40 percent of the registered voters surveyed in a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday say Christie would be a bad choice for Mitt Romney's running mate.

Respondents approve of the job Christie is doing, 54 to 39 percent.

The survey also shows those polled agree 49 to 43 percent with Democrats to delay a tax cut until there's proof there is enough state revenue to support it.

The survey of 1,623 registered voters has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 2.4 percentage points.
